The Inner Work of Mindful Parenting.
Jul 7th, 2008 by Sally
I found this very interesting. It is from a fellow Homeschooljournal.net blogger. It is an excerpt from Everyday Blessings: The Inner Work of Mindful Parenting. Copyright 1997 by Myla Kabat-Zinn and Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Here’s the particular one for me at the moment:
“There are important times when we need to be clear and strong and unequivocal with children. Let this come as much as possible out of awareness, generosity, and discernment, rather than out of fear, self-righteousness, or the desire to control. Mindful parenting does not mean being overindulgent, neglectful, or weak; nor does it mean being rigid, domineering, and controlling”

all I can say is gosh , yes , more thoughtful than ever now x
(I’m on to the comment leaving problem. I’ve mailed support.)

If you have commented before it won’t let you see the spam word unless you press the (change) link next to where it says welcome back … glitch in the theme I’m afraid!

Hi Sianne, what a nice comment to receive! I sometimes squirm at how open I am about my shortcomings … but I’m determined to be unafraid! Also, I’m sure it is the same with us all in reality (though we have different ones!) and it must be useful to hear it spoken and thought through. It certainly is for me when I’m reading other people’s blogs. Glad you are around … I’ll nip over and check out your blog in a min.
